MEETING WITH THOMAS DONOHUE



On October 7, 2011, Thomas J. Donohue, President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, met in Rome at Palazzo Rondinini with the Italian members of the Council.

He devoted his speech to the issue of  “Transatlantic Business Partnership: Facing up to Global Challenges”. In particular, he focused on the U.S. economy, U.S.-E.U. trade and investment, the need for a strong and united Eurozone, set forth a proposal for zero tariffs between the U.S. and Europe, besides trade proposals. He also addressed the importance for the U.S. and Italy to jointly achieve economic growth.

Besides Council members, leading figures of Italian economic and political scene also took part in the luncheon.
