The Venice Workshop is the major event in the life of our organization in Italy. It is an annual international conference that brings together the Council membership – the business leadership of the two countries – with a prestigious group of international experts and policy makers.
Over the course of two days, the Council’s Workshop provides an opportunity for focused and intense examination of the changing range of economic, political and social issues of common interest. Since its first session in 1990, the conference has gained an ever-growing participation and greater attention by the media, both at national and international level.
Speakers have included: Giuliano Amato, James Baker, Edouard Balladur, Fred Bergsten, Joseph Biden, Leon Brittan, Kim Campbell, Massimo D’Alema, Laura D’Andrea Tyson, Joschka Fischer, Yegor Gaidar, Bronislaw Geremek, Henry Kissinger, Andrei Kozyrev, Felipe Lampreia, Nigel Lawson, Sergio Marchionne, Rita Levi-Montalcini, Mario Monti, Sadako Ogata, Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa, Renato Ruggiero, Paolo Scaroni, Helmut Schmidt, George Soros, Peter Sutherland, Strobe Talbott, Simone Veil, Jack Welch, and Robert Zoellick.
