Other Events

The Council also organizes other activities for its members, such as meetings with prestigious Italian and American speakers and activities in partnership with other institutions.

On July 1, 2008, for example, an international conference in memory of Giovanni Agnelli was held in Rome, together with Aspen Institute Italia. Speakers included: Mario Draghi (Governor of the Bank of Italy), John Elkann (Vice Chairman of Fiat), Martin Feldstein, Franco Frattini (Italy’s Foreign Minister), Henry Kissinger, Emma Marcegaglia (President of the Confederation of Italian Industry), Giorgio Napolitano (President of Italy), Robert Rubin, and Giulio Tremonti (Italian Minister of Economy and Finance).

In November 2007, the conference “Looking East, Looking West: Key Challenges Facing the Atlantic Partners” took place in Berlin, in cooperation with The American Council on Germany and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik.
