Meeting with Robert Zoellick

On Friday February 13 2009, Robert Zoellick, President of the World Bank, addressed the Council for United States and Italy members and their guests. The event was held in co-operation with Bank of Italy and ABI, the Italian Banking Association, which hosted the presentation at its headquarters in Rome.

“Current Economic Challenges and the Italian G8 Presidency” was the title of the presentation of Robert Zoellick, who was in Italy for the meeting of the G-7 Ministers of Finance.

The discussion focused on the effects of the financial crisis, with participation of Fabrizio Saccomanni, Bank of Italy General Director, Emma Marcegaglia, President of Confindustria, Sen. Mario Baldassarri, President of the Finance and Treasury Committee, Vice-president of Senate Emma Bonino, and Fabrizio Onida, Professor at the Bocconi University.

The invited speaker was introduced by Cesare Merlini.
